Happy Birthday Erin!

June 19th, 2009

Erin is a co-worker & very good friend of mine! Today is her birthday and in honor of that I decided to give her some flowers that will never die!

These paper flowers are from K & Company. They came in a book FULL of awesome paper flowers ready for you to punch out & piece togeether. I saw them at AC Moore a few months back. When I went back a few days later, they were on clearance - the entire book was like $2. I couldn’t resist. There are literally hundreds of flowers - and you can arrange them any which way you want. I used some buttons & glue dots to hold them all together. Added them to some wooden sticks & stuck them into this clay pot.

I used my hot glue gun to secure them in place inside the pot - and also to secure the moss a little bit. I am really pleased with how they turned out!

soo..ummm…CKC…?

May 18th, 2009

remember when I was hemming & hawing over possibly going to CKC? Well, Pete totally me I really *should* go.

and this…this is what happens when I’m pushed to attend the vendor fair at CKC my friends:

Yep. That’s a lot of stuff! My biggest score was all the kits I picked up. I grabbed 4 from the Button Farm (bought 3, got one free). I can’t wait to put all the mini albums together. The Button Farm stuff is INCREDIBLE.

on Saturday I had my graduation from Bentley for my Masters. Here is a quick picture of me & Pete. It was a great day!

I’ll be back soon with more projects & stuff that I’ve made recently!

NEW goodies!!

May 14th, 2009

look what just arrived on my doorstep? (errr…the doorstep of my company I should say, as that’s where I have all my things delivered!)

(crappy photo, taken with my P&S!!).

I have been a good girl and haven’t shopped online in a LONG time. But there were quite a few things on Sale at Joann.com - and with Free Shipping I couldn’t resist. So, here is what I got and why I needed (wanted) it!

  • Colorbox Chalk Inks - LOVE these. I am obsessed with these at the moment. The quality & vibrancy of the ink is just awesome. I am determined to own every color of this ink eventually :) They were 30% off so I snagged 4 new colors. Woot!
  • Fiskars Hand Punch - been meaning to grab this for a while - it’s a hand punch for a 1/4″ circle. Just something good to have. (I will share a project with you in a little bit that will explain my sudden  urge to have one of these! :) )
  • Marvy Super Craft Punch - 2″ Circle. I am forever looking for a 2″ circle. And it’s a pain in the arse to use my circle cutter each time I need one. This punch was pretty low cost ($9.50) and I know I will use it a lot. I’m getting annoyed at how over-priced and over-rated Stampin Up’s punches are. $16 every time I need a punch? No thanks.
  • Band Aid Tin Box - These things are SO cute and are on sale for $1.19 each. I have seen my demo Michelle make lots of cute things with these and I figured they would make great things to sell in a craft fair. So I bought 15 of them!
  • Mini Top Tin - again, on sale & super cute. I think I can make these into cute little card holders or something. I only bought 5 of these to try out but they are currently on sale for $2.39 each - which I didn’t think was bad at all!

(FYI - I have no affiliation with Joann.com - in fact, they should totally be paying me to do this blog post & give them free advertising, haha!) I just wanted to share my new stuff with you all!

This weekend is going to be great. I have tomorrow off from work and I actually think I might make the trek up to NH to CKC. I was all gung-ho CKC at first…but then the more I thought about it, the more I know that I’m just going to spend LOTS of money in the vendor fair…and I am currently trying to avoid being such a craft spend-a-holic. But Pete has been encouraging me to go…so what the heck, I might as well take a drive up & see what they have. Last year I made out big in the dollar spot.

My family is also coming to town this weekend for my Graduation at Bentley. I am getting my Masters Degree (finally!) and it will be so nice to just have them here and go to a nice dinner in Boston afterwards.

So if you don’t hear from me in a few days, that’s why! I will definitely post any good finds that I snag at CKC. Have a great weekend everyone!

just a few things…

April 21st, 2009

Hello everyone - just a few things to update you on!

Last night I had to present my Business Launch Plan to my class (the class was on becoming an Entrepeneur - so we each had to pick a business to start)….can you guess which business I picked? :)

Yep, that’s right - I introduced my class & Professor to “Kerry’s Paper Crafts” - and talked t0 them about what I would like to eventually do with it. For now, I focused on the Craft Fairs as my jump-off point. So with that being said, I wanted to give you an early heads up on the upcoming Craft Fairs I will be doing in 2009.

July 8, 2009 - Falmouth Street Fair - Falmouth, MA - this fair is going to be HUGE! It’s on Cape Cod and I expect it to be great. I can’t wait to work this fair and meet new people. As you can imagine, I’m making stuff now - trying to get as MUCH product as I can. If you think you might be on vacation that week - definitely try to come by! I’m sure there will be lots of other wonderful crafters & booths.

October 17, 2009 - Harvest Craft Fair - Sudbury, MA - I was at this fair last year. It was so great! I plan on doing it again this year and hope to see some of the same wonderful customers that I met in 2008.

November 21, 2009 - Middlesex Comm. College Craft Fair - Bedford, MA - yep, I’m doing this one again. It’s SO close to my house, how could I pass it up? This was my fave fair last year - I was able to sell so many Holiday goodies & treats. I would LOVE to see you all there again this year. Wanna know the best part? They moved the ENTIRE fair inside this year! yay! No more windy, frigid, scary tent that might blow away! LOL

So there you have it. I might take one more Fair on in the Fall - but as for right now, I’m just really gearing up for my fair in July. I’ll be posting new projects here as I make them.

Lastly, I just wanted to say that the presentation I made last night went really well (I think!?) - I handed out business cards - so hopefully some of the people reading this are my classmates.  (Hi Guys!)

That presentation was officially my last assignment as a Grad Student, and after next weeks class is over with, I will officially be DONE my Masters Program at Bentley. Commencement is on May 16th. I am beyond thrilled to have accomplished this goal in my life! wooo! Time to celebrate :)

A WHOLE NEW LOOK!!!

February 18th, 2009

as you may have noticed, my blog has been somewhat unavailable over the last day. SO SORRY!!

I’ve been hard at work re-vamping this whole thing. I was really not a fan of the cutesy look on my old blog. And I had lots of problems & limitations with Blogger. So I took the time to get Wordpress installed & teach myself how to edit myself a customized theme. So…here I am!

You’ll notice this look is much more simple & clean…I will probably be playing around & adding some more to this soon. But for now this is a good starting point.

Leave me a comment and let me know what you think! I’m hoping this will make it easier for you guys to look at! Thanks so much for coming to visit…I love hearing from you guys!

hooray for $1 stamps

January 26th, 2009

I have this thing with minor Holidays (like Valentine’s) where I don’t want to spend the mula to buy real stamp sets for them. See, I really don’t give out Valentine’s to anyone (except one to Pete) - I am not a teacher, nor do I have kids…so really, I don’t need to make a ton of Valentine’s stuff. I always end up making some though, because they are fun. Who doesn’t love hearts?

The good thing is that there are what we call Dollar Stamps out there! Love these things. I found some super cute ones at Michael’s and used one of them to make yet another 3″x3″ card…

Oh and that ribbon, yep that was another $1 find - Martha Stewart ribbon on super clearance at Michael’s. I thought it matched the dots in this Designer Paper perfectly.

and now for a SNEAK PEEK…

here is just a lil’ sneak peek into something I am working on. I took lots of photo & even a video of my craft room this weekend. I finally got it to a point where I am happy with the organization. It was amazingly (shockingly) clean - so I figured it was the perfect time to capture my organization strategy for you all to see :)
Here is just a small little preview pic…

Tonight I start back up with Graduate School - however, it’s only one class this semster…and it’s my LAST class of the progam. Wahoo! So hopefully it won’t be too crazy of a spring and I can still spend lots of time crafting away!

Be back later this week with my video of my craft room!
