Video Tutorial: Rudolph’s Spares

November 8th, 2009

hey everyone, I’m back!! Sorry it’s been so quiet around here lately…it took me a little bit to catch up from vacation.

Anyway, I thought I would post a quick little video that I did showing you how I created these Rudolph’s Spares treats. I sell these for $1.50 each at my craft fairs - and so far they seem to be a good seller! They make a really fun stocking stuffer.

Inside the tins are Red Hots candy. These are the tins that I used. You can get them in the wedding section of your local craft store.

Oh, and something I didn’t show in the video..I added a tiny bit of Crystal Effects to the red nose to give it just a little bit of dimension & interest.

Here is the video, hope you enjoy!!

Hey everyone…I had my flip with me the other day at the fair…I tried to get a quick shot of the table & my display for you all…as I know sometimes it’s better than regular photos. I hope this helps all you fellow Crafters out there!

You can see all the photos from my fair here. If you have specific questions, be sure to check out my FAQ. Thanks!!

I won’t be around for the next week…will be in sunny FLA soaking up the rays on vacation! However, I will have my laptop with me & have some Blog postings all ready to go while I’m away. So there will still be postings! There is no way I could go a whole week without blogging :)

If you send me an email just be patient as I’m not sure how much I will be checking. Thanks!

Video: Top Note Gift Card Holders

October 23rd, 2009

Hi everyone - I was fiddling around with Gift Card Holders in my scraproom last weekend & I decided to make this quick video to show how I made them. I’ve seen people use the Top Note to make gift tags & I’ve always loved the way it looks.

102309_01

I used Basic Grey Designer Paper on these…their Christmas line is really pretty this year. The cardstock is from SU - Close to Cocoa.

Much like the ornament gift card holders, you just slide the gift card in the back…

Video Tutorial: Kit Kat Holders (more craft fair goodies!)

October 13th, 2009

101209_01

so…what do you do with a bunch of Kit Kats that you still have left & not sure what you can make? Well, here is what I came up with! Super easy, but also really fun. I even filmed a video for you all, because who doesn’t love creepy, scary Halloween music? :)

The eyes in the video are somewhat small. I later changed them out & added larger googlie eyes because…well…googlie eyes are just fun! These shapes were cutout with my Cricut Cartridge. The spider was from Doodlecharms & the bat was from Paper Doll Dressup.

Oh, and can I brag for a moment? I got another email from CARDS magazine last night. Look for my creations in Jan, Feb & March 2010 issues of CARDS. Woot woot!! :)

Video Tutorial: Hot Cocoa Sliders

October 6th, 2009

woah, 2 videos 2 days in a row? I must be nuts! :)

Here is the requested video for all you awesome Blog Readers of mine. You guys are THE BEST & I want you to know that I TOTALLY appreciate all of your comments & questions, keep ‘em comin’! If I haven’t answered something in the comments section, send me an email. I will try & get back to you as soon as I can.

I hope this video explains how I did these. They are super easy, and the thing is you can do them SO many ways. You don’t have to layer the cardstock if you don’t want to (you can stamp on it, or just leave plain, etc.) You can embellish however you like - you can also make them pull out sideways instead of up & down like I did.

Dimensions used in this video:

  • Base Cardstock = 7 3/4″ x 5 1/2″
  • Designer Paper = 7 3/4″ x 4 1/2″
  • Scored @ 3 5/8″, 1/2″
  • Size ribbon to however long you want, as long it’s long enough to hold Hot Cocoa & tie in a bow/knot.

Thanks for checking it out. I will be back yet again this week with more Halloween stuff. I’m still crankin’ away on Craft Fair goodies. I’m going to post a link with all the show info soon too!

Craft Fair Goodies: Witch’s Hat Treats

October 5th, 2009

Hi everyone - I’ve got a lot of good stuff to share with you this week! (I promise a video on the Hot Cocoa sliders, it’s already been filmed!!)

Saturday was a super rainy day here in MA - so I headed over to my LSS to pick up some supplies. I was checking out when I noticed the cutest thing on the counter…it was a mini sized Witch Hat, and inside was a mini Reeses PB Cup. I decided I HAD TO MAKE THIS when I got home!

I didn’t have any mini Reeses…but I did have Hershey Kisses. So here is what I came up with. I shot a super quick video to show you how to make these. I think I will sell them for like 25 cents a piece. It’s a great way to use up your scraps…

Product Review: 3M’s Post-It Craft Paper

September 23rd, 2009

The lovely people over at 3M sent me some samples of their new Post-It Craft Paper to play with. This paper comes in all different colors, is a bit thinner than cardstock, but has a sticky back to it so that all you have to do is cut, peel the backing off & stick onto your project. I thought I would share a video of my experiences with it, and some project ideas I had for it.

You can currently find this product at Joann’s.

Here are some pics of the projects I made, be sure to watch the video for details on a few of them…

Paper Pieced Card:

Simple card made using punches, adhering Craft paper straight to the card:

using the Craft paper as a mask:

Overall I think it’s very useful, especially in your Cricut. (Provocraft actually endorses this paper). I am sometimes hesitant to use my Cricut for paper piecing because it involves lots of pieces, glue & patience, LOL. So the fact that this paper comes off the cutting mat with adhesive already on it works great for me.

Anyway, here is the video - hope you enjoy!!

Quick Video: How to tie a bow…

had a few requests from people asking how I tied my bow on this card. Here is a super short video, hopefully it’s helpful to some of you!

You can watch it in HD over at YouTube.

a cupcake card…with a super quick video!

August 6th, 2009

Hi everyone - so I filmed this video last week. I will admit it’s not the greatest - there are parts where I go off camera (woops!) and the overall quality is just so-so. But I figured I would upload it anyway :)

Here is the card that I made,  along with another card that I didn’t cover in the video. I used some Cosmo Cricket Designer Paper. I am loving their DP these days!

I used some Crystal Effects on the Cherries for this card to really make them stand out & give them shine. The sentiment was stamped using PaperTrey Ink’s Birthday Greetings stamp set.

And here is the video - be sure to watch in High Quality…the low quality is just dreadful!

Laminated Bookmarks: Tutorial

May 8th, 2009

Hi everyone - as promised, I have a new video for you!

If you remember this post from a few weeks back, I shared these bookmarks with you:

042109_01

I decided to make a video to show you how quick & easy these are to make. In the video I do not use any Designer paper, but you can choose to use some DP, or just plain cardstock.

The key for these quick bookmarks are those awesoem Die Cut Stickers from We R Memory Keepers. Seriously, how cute are they? There are so many to a sheet, and you just easily stick them on the cardstock. I got these at my LSS.

Here is the video. Don’t forget to choose High Quality when you watch. Enjoy!
