Giveaways

Hello everyone - thank you SO much for your participation in the giveaway. The responses were overwhelming & I think we all agree there is a lot you can do with this machine.

I used Random.org to select a winner...and the winner is Melissa! I will be sending you an email shortly. Congrats Melissa!! Melissa said...

thanks again everyone. Don't forget, even if you didn't win, there is still a Promo Code for Lifestyle Crafts good for 20% off your total order, until Thursday March 10th. Just enter KERRYBLOG10 upon checkout. Happy Shopping! I hope to post more soon. Things around our house have been a little nuts lately & I haven't had much time to craft. I am 35 weeks tomorrow (holy crap)  - so we are trying to wrap up last minute things and just prepare. The nursery is almost complete, I will be sharing pics of that very soon. Stay tuned!

EDIT: This giveaway is now closed. Thanks to all who participated!! So...I've been playing with a new toy lately - it's called the Epic Combo Kit from Lifestyle Crafts. This post is full of good stuff so make sure you read all the way to the bottom...!!

This kit allows you to create amazing Letterpress designs using plates, but it also die cuts & embosses. It's just as simple to use as any other manual die cut machine like a Cuttlebug or Sizzix. Go HERE for a full set of instructional videos & demos.

I couldn't wait to get inky with all the Letterpress stuff. There are several different color inks that you can use. I used them all, but then I decided to try my hand at making my own custom colors too...

It's pretty easy to do. The key is using the brayer provided and rolling the ink back & forth plenty of times to get it mixed just right:

The results ended up being pretty cool. Check out the purple!  The coverage of this piece of paper was fabulous. I made a BUNCH of these in all different colors. Perfect to use as the background for a card - especially something like a wedding or shower invitation:

Here are some cards that I put together with all different Letterpress designs & inks. Love the bright, vibrant colors.

I even used some shaped punches and some cutting dies to cut out shapes and add dimension to these cards.

The sentiment & damasks on this card (both the background & the large one in the center) were created using this Letterpress Printing Kit.

This card was made using this set of flower cutting dies. I paired it with some PaperTrey Ink paper & a stamp from Hero Arts. I LOVE the dimension and texture these die cuts give.

OK, so: on to the FUN part!

The people over at LifeStyleCrafts.com have been SUPER generous and are letting me give one of these awesome kits away to one of you! This prize includes the Epic/L Letterpress Die Cut Tool, along with an assortment of accessories. You will have tons of fun with trying out Letterpress, I'm sure. (not to mention ALL the other thing you can do w/ the Epic Six...it's a die cut & embossing machine too).

To enter, all you need to do is visit the Lifestyle Crafts website & check out the products. You can also look at their blog if you'd like to get more ideas & tips. Then come back here &  leave me  a comment on this post telling me about your favorite project or how you would use the combo kit.

EDIT: the contest is now closed. Thanks to everyone for commenting & congrats to the winner!! Hi everyone - I was going to wait to do this post until after I finished a video I'm working on... but I can't contain my excitement - so I'm just doin' it. ;) (by the way, the video focuses on some coloring techniques...like Prisma Colored Pencils & Copics - so stayed tuned) I love my Copics - and I love things that are quick & easy. So when I saw this technique by the lovely Jennifer McGuire, I knew I had to do it. I stamped a bunch of butterflies using some Hero Arts Cling Stamps and went to town. It's so much fun to use the Copics & blend colors until you get the result you like.

Also - those envelopes are custom made. I got some questions on what to use for envelopes for 3"x3" cards. Well, I've purchased some through Stampin Up - they are nice. But I also make my own sometimes using my Cricut. I cutout a pocket using the Tags, Bags Boxes & More cartridge - and then just trimmed the upper part of the pocket off, then punched a semi-circle with a 1.25" circle punch.

Hope everyone has a great weekend. It's CHILLY up here in MA - so I will be locked in my craft room w/ the heat on full blast being creative. Sounds like heaven to me!
