I’ve been wanting to do this for some time now. Actually, since January - ha.
One of the most requested things I get here on the Blog is to see more masculine cards, and cards for Boys. So I decided I would feature a week (5 days) worth of cards that are great for the man or boy in your life! And because I’m a busy lady, when I say a week, I mean Mon-Fri so really only 5 days
Here is today’s card:

Designer paper is from the “Mr. Campy” collection by Cosmo Cricket. (they have lots of great patterns for masculine cards). I decided to try my hand at paper piecing & put this paper together to look like a tie. I used some twine to add interest, and inked the edges to give more definition.

I love this sentiment. It’s from this set by PaperTrey Ink.

This card could easily be turned into a Father’s Day Card. All you’d need to do is replace the “Happy Birthday” sentiment w/ a “Happy Father’s Day” sentiment!

Hi, my name is Kerry, and I am a PUNCH ADDICT.
Those glorious 40% off coupons are like crafting-crack for me, and lure me into buying more & more punches. My latest purchase was this number here by EK Success. Just LOVE those candles for a Birthday Card.

The base of the card is Old Olive from SU! - I used a Hero Arts cling stamp for the background. Designer paper is from Cosmo Cricket, ribbon is from PTI.
In other news…I started a photography class last night and I’m PSYCHED!! I am finally learning how to really use my DSLR camera. I have done a lot with it so far, but I’m not 100% comfortable with shooting in full manual mode. So I am very excited to learn in this class. So far so good! I’m hoping as I learn more, my pics here on the Blog will improve.

errrr….
here’s a card that I made today. LOL!

I wanted to try & do something for NSD - but in all honesty, I have no (printed) pics to really scrapbook at the moment. I’m unprepared
We are off to my parents house soon for the rest of the weekend, so I won’t have much time to be crafty today, but I did manage to create this card with my new favorite Martha Stewart punch:

It’s a monster punch. But I love the butterfly detail. I figured it would make a really nice silhouette against a bright background:

I used all distress inks & my foam blending tool to create that background. The sentiment is from Hero Arts. Super simple card with minimal supplies. Love! Oh, and the dimensions of the card are 9″x3.5″
Have a great day everyone!

I posted a few weeks ago about a fun technique with emboss resist, using distress inks. I decided to use up some more of those stamped images that I had created on this card.

All stamps are Hero Arts. I used some chalk ink and the woodgrain background stamp on the Kraft cardstock to give it some texture. Those flowers are some primas that I had lying around, and I stuck a button from PTI in the middle. The ribbon is Old Olive from Stampin Up. (Old Olive is one of my all time fave colors!)

it’s getting close to that time of year…time to start thinking of Teacher Gifts!
I’ve always found paper crafting to be great for these types of gifts. I really enjoy making small, practical gifts that are thoughtful & unique. There are SO many clever ideas out there in the paper-crafting world - and I think it’s great that we can all share them with each other. One of the biggest requests I get from people is items to give as Teacher Gifts. A lot of times, your child can have 5+ teachers…that’s a LOT of people to buy things for - it can add up! Handmade gifts are a great way to save money but also give something personal.
Here’s a “Teacher Thank You Card”. You can throw a $5 Starbucks gift card in there - or perhaps a movie pass? Those yummy apples were stamped with Tart & Tangy Stamp set from Stampin Up (one of my all time faves - everyone needs to own this set!). All paper & ribbon is from PTI. The background is stamped using a Hero Arts cling background, and the sentiment is HA too. I used one of my new Martha Stewart punches to create the scalloped border edge.

I will try & come up with some more ideas for making inexpensive but thoughtful Teacher Gifts. Thanks for stopping by!

I love monsters! They are so fun & cute. Had to grab this stamp set when I saw it.
I colored the little guys with some Copic Markers. You can’t really tell in this photo, but the background of the card is stamped using that same cloud stamp from Hero Arts. I added some white stars to dazzle it up a bit. I used some Crushed Curry CS from Stampin Up to create some layers for the bottom. (tip: to give added dimension, I sponged each layer w/ some yellow ink)
Ribbon is from PTI, stamped sentiment & speech bubble are also Hero. Thanks for stopping by today…!

I’m back today with more Spring to share. Things are getting pretty warm here in MA, and it’s only April! I’ll take it!
I did lots of fun stuff on this card. Took me longer than a normal card would - but I was having fun with it & not really sure what I was trying to accomplish - sometimes it’s fun to just do that, no?

Stamps are all from Hero Arts (LOVE that cloud background stamp - I can’t find enough uses for it…!) The sentiment is something I’ve wanted to use for a while and I think it works nicely on this card. The swirls on the butterflies were stamped with a HA Cling stamp, embossed in white & then inked over with some Ranger Paint Dabbers.(I inked a whole sheet of paper & then punched these guys out using the SU butterfly punch)

You might notice the background clouds to be a bit choppy - it was intentional. I stamped them using some Claudine Helmuth Studio Acryllic paint…mostly because I just love that color blue & I was looking for a fun effect on the card. The grass is some PTI cardstock that I just cut & inked with some Distress Ink to give it dimension.
I’ve been working on a few fun things - hope to share soon. Randomly I was inspired to create a mini album with a Halloween theme, LOL. Not sure why since it’s ummm…April? But anyway I hope to have that up here soon. Pete & I are in the process of several house projects, including a giant kitchen remodel that we’re taking on all by ourselves…so I’ve been tied up a lot with that. I can’t wait to get to the tiling part - it will be like a giant crafting project for me, hehe

I had to create a bunch of Bella cards for one of my readers. It was fun! This stamp below is one of my favorite Bellas. Such a great card to give to a friend who deserves a little pampering - maybe include a gift certificate for a day at the spa?

I colored these lovely ladies with my Copic Markers. Pete had a hockey game & I went to watch…Errr…I brought a bunch of stamped images, sat in the warm room the entire time & colored. That counts as “watching” his hockey game, right??
If you’re interested in getting some of these stamps - you can find them here. (the “take time for yourself” sentiment is also from Stamping Bella). I haven’t bought any in a few years (I probably will soon though, they are definitely cute!). Just to let you know - they were unmounted rubber stamps & I mounted them on some easy mount when I got them. I’m not sure if that’s changed at all since then. Either way, these stamps are great!!

a lot of you have expressed interested in seeing cards that are more masculine. I plan on having more coming soon on a whole bunch of masculine/boy cards. For now, here’s a quick little example of how you can use the same stamps & same basic layout to get 2 completely different looks. (scroll to the bottom of the post to see a list of supplies used)

This card would be perfect for a boy on his Birthday:

This card would be great for a girl, teenager, or even adult. It’s not “too girly” - but the flower really makes it fun.

I used the Ledger Cling Stamp by Hero Arts to stamp both the backgrounds of each card, and the small piece of paper that layered onto the card. I did some tone on tone stamping for most - and used some blue ink on that yellow cardstock to make it look even more like lined notepaper. To finish off the look, I used this Spiral Punch from Stampin Up. (I know that EK Success also has a version of this out there). I love this punch - I need use it more. I love how you can totally create the look of notepaper! I also rounded some corners here & there with my Corner Chomper.
I hope this gives you some inspiration to try & make 2 very different cards out of one basic layout & stamp.
“You” card: PaperTrey Ink New Leaf CS, Kraft CS. SU! Pumpkin Pie CS, Ribbon, Spiral Punch. Hero Arts Ledger Cling Stamp, Autumn Leaves Stamp. American Crafts Thickers.

a co-worker of mine (who happens to be one of my FAVE customers, hehe
) asked me to make some Bridal Themed Thank You notes for her niece who is getting married. Her colors for the wedding are Pink & Green. I made a similar card to this a while ago - and she wanted me to customize it to her color scheme - which was easy to do!

The Bride plans to use these cards to give her attendants the night of the rehearsal dinner. I really like this idea - it makes it so much more personal - especially because the colors will be themed to their wedding. If you have a specific event you want to customize, email me to see if I can match something to your needs!
