Usually when I get going on a project…I don’t stop. I go & go & go - and then usually move on to another one until I have virtually no space left on my desk to even place a piece of paper down. It slowly closes in on me, and then I’m left with this:

um, yikes!

I can usually recover & put away enough stuff for the time being, so that I can move on to another project. But by the end of the day it gets a little out of control

I thought it would be great to dress them up for Halloween & make them look like monsters or Frankenstein. Here’s what I’ve come up with. I’ve stuff him full of Halloween goodies like toy spiders, a little coffin that opens up with candy inside, pixy stix & spooky pencils.

I used circle punches to create his eyes, and just used scissors to trim out some hair & that mouth. I adhered most things down using Tombow Liquid glue as these are tins made of metal. For a finishing touch, I tied some ribbon to the handles on each side.

so quick!! RUN to Target & find some of these tins for only $1

SO - let me ask you: how many of these containers do you have in your fridge? Full of strawberries, cherry tomatoes - or other kinds of fruit?

This project is great way to re-use those containers instead of just throwing them away. Just wash them out when you’re all done & you can create a super cute gift for Teachers, Co-Workers, or Friends! (Gosh, I kind of sound like an info-mercial right now, don’t I??)

Here are some that I created to give as Christmas gifts or sell at a Craft Fair. I decorated the outside & stuffed the inside with scented candles & decorative gift filler. The one on the right is a larger container (was used for strawberries) and the one on the left was from some cherry tomatoes.

The containers will vary in size depending on where you get them & what type of fruit/veggie is in it - which is great because you can get really creative with what you want to place inside.

Here is the one I show you how to make in the video. For this one I brought the ribbon around & over the top of the container. Just a different look than the one above. HINT: If you are going to be placing the ribbon around the side of the container, you might want to put some sticky strip down the sides so that the ribbon stays nice & snug on the container.

Part of my gift to my brother & his wife were these burpies! I am really loving learning to sew, and these are PERFECT for a beginner sewing project. Click HERE to see where I go the idea & instructions. So much fun to make.

I used some ribbon that matched the colors & created a little tag to add on top of this bundle:

I then stuck them into a gift basket with a few other items. I love this Lion - he is snuggly & cute.

Of course, I had to make a matching card to go with this decor the baby’s name is going to be Andrew…

And lastly, I was in charge of the shower favors. I made candy bar sliders and they were a hit! I used a bunch of different animals, all from the Stampin Up Fox & Friends stamp set. (it went perfectly with her theme.) Lots of people enjoyed the candy bars too - YUM.

I know, it’s only August. But Halloween is *not* that far away. So I’m trying to get in gear. As of right now I’m not commited to a fair before Halloween - so I’m not sure where I’m going to sell this stuff, but I might find a fair

I got this idea from the latest Stampin Up Catalog, along with a project that I had done last year. There was a pic in the catalog of a mummy using some ribbon. It was super cute, but I didn’t want to waste all of that ribbon. I was digging through my supplies trying to think of what I could use instead & I found some medical gauze. Perfect! I used some distress ink to give the Mummy an older look. I’ve even included a video on how to put this little guy together.

I have not done ANY crafting at all this summer! It’s so sad, gah! I am hoping to get back into the mood soon - but it’s been a hot summer so we’ve been trying to enjoy it. (well, that & renovate lots of things in our house!) I have a kitchen back again! YAYY! A sink, a dishwasher, all of it! It’s glorious. We are putting the finishing touches on but then it will be complete. Wait until you see the before & after pics. It’s like a totally different house!

I decided to use a bit of October Afternoon paper to create this flower. The layers of this card are a Stampin Up Real Red base, with PTI Kraft Cardstock. I embossed-resist the background a bit with a few Hero Arts stamps. I used some Distress Ink to grunge up the edges a bit on all of the pieces.

This button was a clear button; I punched a circle from some more OA paper and glued it to the back of the button w/ Glossy Accents (AKA Crystal Effects from SU). I love doing that - it gives you an instant designer button!

Not sure if I have shared these here yet - but I made even more of the post-it holders w/ matching pens. Love these things. So easy to make.

Can you believe it’s July? I need to start crackin’ on FALL items soon! ACKKK!! We are *almost* done the kitchen…well, I almost have a sink back - they are installing granite counters next week. After that it’s the finishing touches. But the important thing is that I WILL HAVE A SINK & A DISHWASHER SOON!! I might die of excitement people.

Anyway, more to come soon. Meanwhile, I’m trying to avoid melting. It’s been quite the toasty week here in MA. Stay cool everyone!

I was so relieved & grateful when I was through. The best caption I could think of for this page was “FINALLY”. (I then vowed never to go to school again ) even the Photography class I took a few weeks ago made me twitch a bit. Just being back on a campus made me want to run screaming for the hills. The good news was that the class was totally about leisure this time!

I need to add some journaling & this page will be complete.
