a bright & cheery card

January 11th, 2010

Hi everyone - hope you are all staying warm in this COLD weather we’ve been having…all across the US! Up here in the Northeast it’s been FRIGID. Pete & I are pretty big snowboarders so believe it or not, we stole away this weekend to VT & actually hit up the slopes. It was below Zero out…so we were a bit chilly-  but we wore the proper gear & stayed warm. (Drinks at the bar afterward always help too..!! ;)

I figured I’d share a warm card today - to remind you that Spring is only 10 weeks away…

I colored these butterflies using Prisma Color Pencils. LOVE them. I like that you can just scribble really messy & then use Gamsol (odorless mineral spirits) to blend. I might do a video of this soon to show you what I mean.

I popped the butterflies up using dimensional adhesive & also added some bling to the edges of the butterflies with Stickles. All stamps used on this card are from Hero Arts - that background paper is super cute isn’t it? I had it in my stash. I’m not 100% sure where it’s from…and the Green paper in the background is from PaperTrey Ink.

Kerry! These are so pretty!! Very warm feeling!!! Would love to see your coloring technique. Prismas are pretty much all I use for coloring!
