more bookmarks to share!

April 28th, 2010

Last weekend I was on the “I NEED to use up some of my scraps” kick.

What do I do to use up scraps? I make bookmarks! They are the perfect way to use strips of paper. These ones here below are 7″x2″. I have LOTS of designer paper scraps. WAY too much. This is my way of using them up & creating something fun.

Can we discuss how CUTE this robot fella is? He was from a piece of designer paper. ADORABLE.

More fun boy-themed bookmarks…

I also tried to use up some colors of cardstock that are not my traditional style. (AKA bright SHOCKING pink). Stampin Up is retiring a bunch of colors so I figured I better make room for the new…! Here are some girly themed bookmarks…

You can find another post of mine with full video tutorial on making these bookmarks HERE. (I laminate them.) I sell them at my craft fairs for $2 each, and I can tell you they sell VERY well!

Brilliant idea for scraps. I will try and make some this evening. Hey any chance of a tutorial on how to use a laminator ? Only joking ! I have one about 6 years. I’ll give it a go for the first time this weekend. How many would you normally make for a two day craft fair ?Thanks for sharing.

Love the bookmarks! What a cute and quick idea! What brand is your laminator? After watching your video, I started thinking that it would be nice to own one. Any tips?

Hi Deanna - I have the GBC HeatSeal H312. Here is a link: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B001B09626/jungl05-20

as for tips - it’s super simple to use. You just need to play with the settings of the heat to get the desired sealing on your cardstock. (it depends on the weight & thickness of the cardstock). I just tried it a few times before I found the setting that worked best for me.
