Craft Fair Goodies: Mini Reindeer & a Penguin

November 14, 2011

in Altered Stuff,Craft Fair

These little guys were too fun to make. I used mini-Hershey bars. I sold them for 75 cents each & they sold out!

These were not my idea. I pulled inspiration from multiple places online. For some reason, I only made one penguin (I pulled the idea from HERE). I found they just took too much time, if I am being honest. The reindeer were much easier to put together.

To make the antlers, I drew them in my Silhouette software & cut them out all at once. I've seen people use the Stampin Up Snowflake punch, but I don't own that punch so I improvised. The nose is just a 1" circle adhered with foam adhesive. Add some googly eyes & you're all set! (I used liquid glue to adhere all the pieces - holds up nice & firm) If you did want to make the penguin, I used the Stampin Up heart & small oval punch to make his face, nose arms & belly. The hat was a circle cut in half with another circle for the pom pom. Pretty easy to do, just requires more time & assembly.

How do you draw with your silhouette? I have one but don’t know about the drawing feature.
Thanks!

@Jennifer – there should be a toolbar with basic shapes like rectangles, squares, etc. I used rectangles & the welding tool to make a shape that I wanted. Try googling YouTube for Silhouette tutorials. I know Kristina Werner has done some…
